The Local Solar for All coalition (“LS4A”) is seeking qualified applicants for the role of a campaign director.  Local Solar for All is a coalition of solar energy and storage companies, clean energy industry groups, and non-profits including the Coalition for Community Solar Access, Vote Solar, Sunrun, SunPower, Sunnova and Solar United Neighbors. The coalition’s mission is to scale local solar and storage to speed the transition to a cleaner, more affordable, equitable and resilient electricity grid.   The campaign works to promote the benefits of local clean energy production and encourage federal and state governments to adopt policies to encourage a more decentralized, distributed energy system through direct advocacy, research and communications efforts. The campaign director will work closely with the Governing Committee to spearhead coalition building and management, lead advocacy (federal and state), research and communications, manage LS4A consultants and represent the coalition with policymakers and other key stakeholders, advocacy organizations and the media.

The campaign director will work in close partnership with the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) as a founding member of LS4A and its administrator.  Day to day, he/she/they will report to the CCSA President and CEO.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience developing and managing coalitions
  • Proven success in leading or managing advocacy campaigns and issue efforts, and/or congressional or administration experience
  • Familiarity and ideally experience working on distributed solar and/or storage policy
  • Experience working with /managing boards or committees
  • Experience representing an organization or coalition with policymakers and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Coalition’s Governing Committee to establish priorities based on LS4A’s mission and goals
  • In coordination with LS4A coalition members;
    • develop and execute strategies to increase awareness among key stakeholders of the benefits of local, distributed energy resources, especially the value they bring to the grid from a cost perspective through communications activities and national thought leadership
    • develop and execute strategies to support state and federal advocacy campaigns to adopt distributed energy policies
    • oversee the design and development of research and advocacy tools to advance LS4A goals
  • Manage coalition consultants and budget
  • Represent LS4A and its policy priorities with the policymakers, advocacy organizations, the media and others
  • Work to expand the coalition by attracting new members
  • Establish clear goals and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of LS4A and advocacy strategies.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range is between $120,000 - $160,000 with the opportunity to participate in an additional performance incentive plan. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, and skills of the applicant, and alignment with market data.
  • This position includes a competitive benefits package. Benefits include a company sponsored, flexible reimbursement plan for health/dental/vision insurance benefits for employee and employee’s dependents. The reimbursement plan covers up to 100% of premiums, in addition to co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses. We also offer paid parental leave, professional coaching opportunities, a flexible work schedule, and the opportunity to participate in a 401(k) plan.
